Passport & entry

Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond travel. Check whether you need a visa or tourist card for Mexico based on your nationality well in advance.

Currency

The local currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN). US Dollars are widely accepted at resorts. Cards are accepted; carry some cash for tips and small purchases, including babysitting.

December in Riviera Maya is warm and pleasant — typically mid-20s°C (high 70s–low 80s°F) by day, cooler in the evening. Pack light layers for the night events.
